MILTON HOSPITAL MOVES AHEAD
McGuinty Government Protects Milton’s Healthcare
QUEEN’S PARK – Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) has received approval for a $22.5-million provincial planning grant to assist with the cost of the Milton District Hospital (MDH) Redevelopment, Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn announced today.
“This provincial grant is terrific news for local families,” said Flynn. “This funding will allow for the redevelopment of the hospital to move ahead with planning and improve high quality health services inMilton.”
The $22.5-million provincial grant will assist with the cost of planning and designing the Milton District Hospital (MDH) Redevelopment. This brings the total planning and design grant to $24-million after $1.5-million was announced in July 2007.
“We made the right choice in our budget to protect health care and move forward with the expansion plans inMiltonas well as the construction of theNewOakvilleHospital,” said Flynn. “I urge others not to make the wrong choice and vote down the budget to force an unnecessary election and put these important projects at risk,” concluded Flynn.
